| I explicitly asked a lighting professional and that was her answer. "There is no 55W bulb" or for that matter 50W bulb. You could have 100W or 1000W ballast but there is still not a bulb to compliment it. I am not an electrician but something tells me that you would want all your components running the same wattage. There are so many variables when you start mixing and matching ballasts and bulbs that it doesnt surprise me that you may find some sweet spot combo that your eyes respond best to. But I have a friend that has been constantly replacing his "55W HID kit" only because he has a lifetime warranty also. Doesnt mean it is not a hassle when he cant drive at night and now the shop that did the install just tells him "sorry bro we dont have time right now to fix it again". I am not saying that there will never be more capable bulbs but apparently the automotive market doesnt require it right now. However this woman did mention "Industrial and Commercial HID lighting for aircraft", etc but she never responded specifically to my questions about aquiring some of that stuff...
